WIFE, MOTHER, MURDERER is a family-friendly murder mystery, depicting the events that lead real-life Alabama murderer Audrey Marie Hilley to her imprisonment (including poisoning her husband to death, and attempting to kill her daughter as well).
ABC’s MOTW aired on Sunday, on November 10, 1991, where it competed against the usual TV movie competition on NBC and CBS, as well as FOX’s Sunday sitcom block. ABC won that timeslot duel by delivering 23.1 million viewers, but it didn’t win the timeslot in ratings (15.6/24 in Households), because CBS had the same ratings with their ware MY SON JOHNNY, though less viewers.
